Wind & Weather Meter Quick Start Guide Follow
Get started by downloading the Wind & Weather Meter app
available on iOS and Android.
App Setup
Permissions
- Choose your location settings (recommended access to location while using the app).
- Microphone access is only applicable for legacy WINDmeters (plugs in using 3.5mm headphone jack). Microphone access is not required for any Bluetooth connected meters.
- Accept Bluetooth connection permission for Bluetooth connected meters (WFANO-01c, WFANO-02a/b/c, WFPSM-02a/b/c).
Initial Settings & Preferences
- Choose initial settings and preferences, then tap "" in the top left to save and continue.
- You can access additional settings and preferences in the Settings menu.
Connecting the Meter to a Device
Bluetooth WIND/WEATHERmeters
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- Open the Wind & Weather Meter App.
- Press the center button on the WEATHERmeter to power it on. You should see a faint blue LED on the device, it will go out once connected. If prompted with a "Not Connected" message, choose "Dismiss", then connect your Bluetooth WIND/WEATHERmeter.
- A Start button will appear indicating the WEATHERmeter is connected and ready to stream observations to your device.
Legacy (Plug-in) WINDmeters
- Open the Wind & Weather Meter App.
- Connect the legacy (plug-in) WINDmeter by inserting it all the way in to the device's headphone port. If prompted with a "Not Connected" message, choose "Dismiss", then connect your WINDmeter.
- A Start button will appear indicating the WINDmeter is connected and ready to stream observations to your device.
Taking a Measurement
- Hold the WINDmeter or WEATHERmeter into the wind with the logo facing you.
- Press Start to begin a reading and press Stop to end the reading.
- Save your reading, add notes and make adjustments as needed.
- Share your readings with friends on social media, text, email, etc. or download readings.
