Tempest Quick Start Guide Follow
Let’s get your Tempest system up and running!
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and make sure you are in range of your 2.4GHz WiFi network, then visit tempest.earth/app to download the Tempest Weather app.
- The app will walk you through hardware setup. Learn about proper installation and how to identify the best permanent location and mounting option for your Tempest sensor device by reviewing our Siting & Installation Guide:
tempest.earth/siting - Before final installation, you may want to start taking weather observations right away. Just find a temporary spot outside with exposure to the wind, rain, and sun. Secure your Tempest sensor device with the arrow on the side facing true North.

Additional Tips: Do not manually pair to the Hub device over Bluetooth. The WiFi Hub connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. If you don't see your WiFi Network, try refreshing the page, enable 2.4GHz in your router settings, or see our Troubleshooting Guide. Your Tempest hardware is configured to one user account only. The app may be installed on multiple phones and tablets for simultaneous use and you can share data with others in multiple ways. See Sharing Tempest Station Data. |

There is no rush to install your Tempest sensor device at a more permanent site. As a first step we recommend you place it outside in a convenient location to start measuring the weather right away. The included flat base & wood screw with keyhole slot, or any standard camera mount (not included), allows you to quickly secure your Tempest to any flat surface.
