Weather Observations Follow
The TempestOne Ops console provides access to many types of weather data from ground based weather observations to satellite and radar imagery.
Water Level & Sea Surface Temperatures
Weather Station Observations
From the Wind Map, select a weather station and view observation data.
Click on the highlighted Graph button to pull up a detailed view.
You can also overlay different computer model runs. If you click the dropdown menu labeled Available Models, you'll see a list of available forecasts. Any models you select will display as shown in the figure below.
Finally, you can compare a selected station to other nearby sites in one graph. To do this, click the 'Nearby Stations' dropdown menu and select from the list that appears.
Each entry on the list is a nearby site, with the distance (in miles) shown. Choosing a station will create a comparison plot as shown below.
Water Level & Sea Surface Temperature
To view water level observations, select the Water Level option from the product menu and choose a location with water level data from the map.
Some weather stations are equipped with water level and temperature sensors while some sensors will only provide water level height.
A global Sea Surface Temperature map is also available from the product menu.
Satellite & Radar Imagery
Satellite imagery is available in the product menu. IR imagery will gradually transition from daytime to nighttime.
There are several pre-built radar imagery products available including base reflectivity and wind and gust observation overlays.
Lightning Data
Select Lightning from the product menu to view real-time lightning strikes across the globe where our industrial sensors have coverage.
Use the lightning customization menu to adjust the map interface settings.
Onsite Reports
Users of Tempest Wind & WeatherMeters and Lifestyle apps are able to submit onsite reports. Each report is automatically given a timestamp and from any weather station, you can see all onsite reports nearby a selected weather station, or individual reports located on the map from the Onsite Reports option in the product menu.
